Underprotection was founded in Copenhagen in 2010 with one important vision in mind; to unite sustainability and fashion. Sustainable lingerie, loungewear, hosiery and swimwear should be desirable, wearable and comfortable. And here we are, 11 years into the journey. More sustainable than ever and constantly focusing on making conscious and ambitious choices so it’s easier for you as our customer to be responsible and combine ethics and aesthetics in your choice of garments.
We are only using sustainable and certified materials such as TENCEL™ lyocell, recycled polyester, recycled nylon, recycled wool, banana fibers and organic cotton. Most of our products are vegan approved, and if not, it is because it is recycled (wool) or a waste resource (milk). All our packaging, paper and polybags are either recycled or biodegradable and we are minimizing and reusing as much as possible. We encourage you to do the same! Fair working conditions and fair wages are human rights and therefore, we are working exclusively with certified factories. We are celebrating gender equality in many ways and one of them are, that our main suppliers of swim- and loungewear are female owned, and we have been working with them from the very beginning.
"We always strive to make the most sustainable choices even if it is not necessarily the most economically sensible choice, but for us it is not only a business, it’s a lifestyle and a belief that the future must and can be greener. It is our goal to always improve - in everything we do".
Co-founder & CEO Stephan Rosenkilde
